Yes – a CFA is a credible and well respected qualification that teaches you the fundamental analysis and investment principles. It is very useful for equity research and asset management (and increasingly in investment banking and the hedge fund community). You don’t say where you went to university, but unless it was a top tier school (and even if it was) you may immediately be screened out by recruiters due to your 2:2 degree. The CFA won’t get you the job, but will certainly add credibility to your CV so that hopefully you get your foot in the door for an interview.
