Would any one recommend taking the GMAT test to boost my CV?

GMAT not for the purpose of going on to an MBA but as "competency proof" if you will. Or is it only done pre business school? Thanks

  • Absolutely not required. It is only B school requirement.

  • Fair enough......but, the level of difficulty surely would show the level of intelligence one hold's (mainly in the case of having no university degree) yes/no?

  • Or is there better ways to demonstrate?

  • GMAT is only useful for MBAs. if you want to boost your CV go to an MBA.

  • Agree with TNTDMT. GMAT is one of few ways to demonstate your learning ability. Like generalists programs (that usually emphasize ledership potential) differ from specialist programs (e.g. MSc Fin), GMAT is different from prof.designations such as CFA and ACA in that it tests your quant/verbal skills (not the knowledge of FASB rule#3) and also teaches you to be self-organized and improves your logic. Questions are very well constructed to ensure that anyone willing to invest time and efforts will get rewarded. I believe that's an important indicator and may turn helpful in evaluating candidates.
