Should I accept CDO role?
I have an offer for a role in CDO Compliance working with the portfolio manaegement, is wise to acept this role and hope to move into a better position when the markets recover? or sit tight for now. How transferable are the following the skills to be gained? - CLO compliance (structure) - laising with structing banks, trustee and PM - Asset manager "prestige". I currently work in the financial services producing CDO models (no quantitative!!!)

In this environment, jobs are few and far between. I think there is a greater future for you in CDO compliance than in modelling. There are unlikely to be many new CDOs produced in the next few years so no new models. However, there are lots of existing CDOs that will exist for years to come. A compliance role would put you in a central role that will also give you lots of exposure to other areas. You will be the “hub” in a “hub and spoke” environment. Use your role as a liaison to build contacts and network so that you may have opportunities to move again in a few years.
