Product Control / Financial Control Future Prospects in Current Market Scenario ????

ACA with 3 Years of Post Qualification Experience in Top 2 Investment Banks in India and Singapore. Product Knowledge - Wealth Manangement, Fixed Income (Bonds) & Structured Products Notes , Equity and Derivatives. Work Permit - HSMP visa for next 2 years & keen to come and work in London ??? Have spoken to few recuriters they are saying... Job markets for Product Control is "not too bad" for people of your experience and you should not find much difficulty in getting job (If you are present in person in London) Please guide & suggest & How much would be pay & bonus for profile as of mine?????? Thanks

  • i dunno what the recruiters say chances are not too bad chances soundvery good, especialliy as lot of the newly qualified aca's dont want to move into product control, seems like there are always product control jobs available and shortage of decent applicants

  • It would really depend on how much knowledge you have on the daily PnL process and products - but if this was strong then, yes, the options would be there. In terms of salary and bonus, then it's difficult to say without seeing your CV but I would guess it would be from the £60K upwards mark and onwards into AVP level.

  • I would say that product control is about knowing when you control a certain product during a certain amount of time having certain factors in consideration such as the client's perspective of the business and the international economic evaluation of the assets. On a first instance the equality of the equation should not include portfolio management or any analysis of equity related risks, which if happen should be minimized in order to ensure a correct managerial contact between the client and the company.   • product control is not a very sought after job ......its a good market for newly qualified ACA's and you move up the ladder from there. Its all about accounting and controlling a product but nothing on strategy,. u learn products thats it. But can u trade. NO.So depends on what u want. A nice life with good money -PC is good. But if you are ambitious and want to do a FO job. then NO. tell us wat u decide.
