Reference Check - Changed Department Arbitarily by firm.

I was recruited by Top Tier Investment Bank in their Product Control Department. However due to Management Realignment of roles. The same role moved to Operations Department, within 5 months of my joining. I have left this Bulge Bracket Bank to pursue my career in Product Control. My Offer Letter says - Product Control My Relieving Letter says- Operations Q> what shall i write in my CV ???? If i wrote product control as department is it ok ???? Q>Will there be any problem during reference check, (my manager will not say anything), but How should i convenience my HR that they should understand my situation and mention as Product Control during reference check... Thanks

  • They would not say anything in the reference letter, Top tier invst firms have a std letter that would state that you were employed by them with no reference to your position or anything else.

  • If the role you were doing is product control that is what you should put on your CV. the term 'operations' can encompass a wide range of activities including product control depending on insitution.
