Depends what you mean by 'management consulting'. Or, more precisely, who you work for. If you are at a top firm then your chances are very different from a big 4 or a boutique.

Work for a big 4. I basically mean to ask whether a masters in finance will help the transition to investment banking?

"Work for a big 4. I basically mean to ask whether a masters in finance will help the transition to investment banking?" ah. if you were in a McKinseys or Bains etc then a M.Fin is a viable option. from a Big4 you can only really run the standard and sole option for realistic chance of swapping roles/industries: MBA. ie, don't touch a MFin with a bargepole. you don't need skills, you need to get past the gatekeepers.
