Are you optimistic about 2010?
22 December 2009
What are you expectations for the new year? New job? Bigger bonus? Sizable salary rise? Relocation? Or none of the above?
In overall terms, 2010 looks likely to be a good one for recruitment and employment in the financial sector.
Hiring managers at international banks are predicting a war for talent in certain sectors (compliance, commodities, equities, IT, to name but a few), and vacancy volumes will almost certainly be higher than in 2009.
Recruitment agencies are now rebuilding their banking-sector teams, a sure sign that the hiring outlook is picking up.
That's all well and good at a general level, but how will 2010 turn out for you in your particular job function, at your level of seniority?
Will 2010 be a better year for your career, or will you still be in the grip of the GFC? Let us know below.

I've been job hunting since March 09...that's too long for many employers. my fear is that 2010 will be worse for me because I will be unemployed for a whole year. perhaps I might never get back?
