  • This is the problem with banking. You spend so much time working you need advice on hobbies. I digress. If balance sheet permits I would suggest an intensive language course. Fun and useful skill.

  • well said, Davros :) I am not seeking advice on hobbies. But yes, definitely interested in maximizing value of this time. Just looking for interesting experiences/stories on how people utilize this time. Something like 3 weeks of turning around a company in Peru - type of thing which is great experience and makes an interesting story. Issue is I can't commit myself to anything that take more than a couple of weeks. Hence, ideas welcome ..

  • Yep, learn a language/new or additional skill. But you should still make time for some wild times! If you're married.....er

  • I'm in the same situation, options trader that lost my job a week now, and other than trawling job sites, I am trading on IG a lot. I figure that at least it keeps me in touch with the markets. I have also just ordered some VBA books to try and improve my modelling skills which may make me more employable. Best of luck with it!
